A competition focused on women will award photojournalism that capture women in action, or those illustrating women rights/violence against women/women sports/women celebrities/women success/women empowerment. The “Subject: Women” Photojournalism Competition will serve as a platform for aspiring photojournalist who demonstrate the beginnings of promising professional careers.
Photojournalists from across the country can apply to enter the competition, organized by the Write3.com in association with D.Net. Both amateurs and professionals who use traditional camera or a smart-phone are welcome to submit photograph along with a short report based on photo (300 words minimum).
What is Write3?
Write3- New Media Platform, a winner of WSYA 2011 supported by the UN Global Alliance for ICT & Development (UN GAID). Write3.com focuses on journalism using Internet and Mobiles to cover the MDGs and to report on issues related to them, to their realization or failure to be realized; addresses content excellence in terms of a fair, accurate, contextual pursuit of truth and the success in publishing the content using digital, interactive media platforms; invites young journalists and citizens to share their news and become active participants in the public interest of their community and country.
Award
Judges will select one overall winner and ten “highly commended” photographers. A selection of entries will be featured in national newspaper and will be used in WRITE3 publications or promotions. The first place winner will be awarded BDT 15, 000, while BDT 10, 000 and BDT 5,000 prizes will be given to second and third place finalists, respectively. Winners will be announced on 15th March 2012.
Rules & Conditions 1. Individuals Photojournalist can submit more than one entries
2. Reporting and Titling language should be in Bangla or English
3. Pictures should come along with a minimum 300-word-reporting. Photo entries without reporting will not consider for this competition
4. Journalist are kindly requested to submit high resolution photographs (maximum size of each photo 3MB)
5. NO AGE LIMIT.
6. Rights must be given: Each Submission under this competition will/may be used in Write3 promotion, printing materials, newspaper articles, website or any other national or international campaign mentioning photojournalist name (e.g. courtesy by write3/photojournalist name) Submission Procedure
